Successful Christmas Hamper Appeal – Saint Vincent de Paul Society Toronto

By Sarah Jane Hill

Christmas is a difficult time of year for those struggling financially. With the expense of food and gifts seeming to rise every year. The Saint Vincent de Paul Society attached to Saint Joseph’s Toronto has again run their annual Christmas hamper appeal to help support local families in need this holiday session.

This year has been an amazing success. The society has received a generous amount of donations of toys and food from; Saint Joseph’s Primary School Kilaben Bay, Saint Pauls High School Booragul, and the Saint Josephs Parish community at Toronto. On Friday the society put together the hampers from the donated goods for distribution by the middle of next week.

In total this year the society will be handing out almost 40 hampers to local families in need. These range from families with special needs children, to single parent families and single people. All of whom are living tough in our local area. Saint Vincent De Paul Society Toronto looks forward to continuing  their work with the local needy and marginalised in 2018.

The Society also want to pass on their great thanks to the local Parish community for their donations and funds during the Christmas and Hamper appeal this year.
