“Jar of meal shall not be spent, jug of oil shall not be emptied…” – 1Kgs17.14
I am always inspired the Jewish concept of tithing and almsgiving. There is a certain radical trust in God that our lavish generosity will be so blessed that we would never be in need. Everything belongs to God anyway, so we can trust Him to take care of our every need.
When the Israelites held back their generous giving, God invited them to give more saying; “see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.” (Mal 3.10)
How do we respond to that invitation?
