“Belong” Reconciliation Day

Thank you for yesterday.  We had so much fun and really enjoyed ourselves.  It was really lovely to spend this time together.  I thought the day was perfectly planned and wouldn’t change anything.– A parent

Over sixty people gathered at the Conference Centre on Sunday March 24 to help twenty children on their sacraments journey.

The children had worked for four weeks at home with their family on an activity based workbook. The Belong team of the parish and helpers coordinate a family activity morning to help reinforce the teaching and formation from home.

Boxes were made to hold mementos from their sacraments journey this year.

The children did an outdoor super hero training obstacle course. They talked about the battle to push back the clouds of evil and choose good.

The Ten Commandments are linked up with every day examples.

Glass candle jars were painted with beautiful colours and a clean heart was uncovered at the end.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation was available on the day. The children prepared for reconciliation with their carers in small prayer tents.

“Best Reconciliation experience in 57 years of priesthood.” – One of our priests

The day ended with a joyful song as we gave thanks for God’s forgiveness, Create in me
