GARDEN MINISTRY – CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME

Just recently, Pope Francis released his encyclical Laudato Si, On Care for Our Common Home. He tells us, among other things, that caring for our shared surroundings is one way that we reverence our Creator God – by doing so, we are showing love for our neighbours and expressing thanks for the many blessings God has given us.

Over the past few weeks, the gardens around our grounds have undergone a wonderful transformation (thanks to the generous work of a few of our parishioners). Our challenge now is to keep our gardens maintained and looking attractive.

Thankfully, it is now even easier to give a little time to help the community through this wonderful ministry.

Our new look Garden Ministry has set up a noticeboard outlining what needs to be done and where. So if you only have half an hour to spare every few weeks – you could just turn up, find a garden in need, and give it some TLC (and water, or weeding, or raking). You are able to commit to as much as your time and talent allows.

If you would like to be a part of the Garden Ministry, contact the Parish Office for more information.
